Official Web Site: It respects the fishing zones indicated by the FAO for the sustainability of the marine life. The establishment of Cermenate uses 100% of energy from renewable sources. From 2016 it started collaboration with the WWF International. Some of the products have MSC certification.¹

External sources: It does not use trotlines. The volume of sustainable tuna fished with cane and on the free schools has grown. These products are only a small part of its Italian market! At the moment, it still practices fishing with FAD (fish aggregation device).²

RESPECT FOR WORKERS

Official Web Site: From 2012, it starts a company welfare program and adopts an Ethics Code. From 2013, obtains the OHSAS 18001 certification for health and safety for the establishment of Cermenate.¹

External sources: It must however ensure that the Italian production standards are applied by all suppliers in the whole production chain, starting from the fishing boats.²

TRACEABILITY

External sources: On the website it can be found the origin of the tuna. More information can be found also on a tag: the area of fishing is present on 100% of its products in 2018.²
